You can find the Jack & Jill School down a stone courtyard on a quiet, tree-lined street on East 16th Street between Rutherford Place and Third Avenue. Each classroom was completely renovated for the 2013-2014 school year. The classrooms are well-equipped with areas for block construction, dramatic play, musical expression, artistic exploration, and multifarious, developmentally appropriate activities. In addition, each classroom has a quiet area for exploring books as well as a hands-on area for simple science experiments. Our outdoor play yard provides a unique climbing structure and an open area for tricycle riding. On bad weather days, we utilize an indoor gym space.
Directions
The Jack & Jill School (209 East 16th Street) is conveniently located to the Union Square subway stop. Take any of the following trains to Union Square: 4, 5, 6, L, N, R, Q, and W. You will exit the subway on 14th Street and Union Square. Walk two blocks north to 16th Street, turn right on 16th and walk east towards Second Avenue. The school is between Third Avenue and Rutherford Place. The school will be on your left. If you reach Second Avenue you have walked too far east.

The Jack and Jill Playgroup is a "First School" Experience. Miss Dominique Leonard, an experienced early childhood educator, leads the children in: Art, Music, and Story time sessions. Over the course of the term Miss Dominique will explore a multitude of themes with the children including: Transportation, Shapes, and Seasons.
We offer Fall, Spring, & Summer Playgroup Sessions. Fall and Spring Playgroup sessions run 15 weeks, the Summer Playgroup runs 4 weeks. Families have the option of enrolling their child in either two or three classes per week: T/Th or M/W/F. A parent or caregiver accompanies the child to the class.
The Playgroup Classroom is well equipped with slides, riding toys, puzzles and games. Children enjoy interactive play as they gain language and social skills with the help of the Miss Dominique. The Jack & Jill Playgroup (61 Gramercy Park North) is located near the 23rd Street and Park Avenue South subway stop on the 6 train. Use the 22nd Street exit. Walk one block south to 21st Street and half a block east between Park and Lexington Avenue. The Playgroup building will be on your left.
