Jack and Jill Preschool

Stuyvesant Campus (209 East 16th Street)

The Jack & Jill School is located on the first floor of St. George's parish house, on a quiet, tree-lined street. Each classroom is completely renovated in time for the 2013-2014 school year.  The classrooms are well-equipped with areas for block construction, dramatic play, musical expression, artistic exploration, cooking, wood-working, computer work and games. Each room has a quiet area for exploring books and a hands-on area for simple science experiments. The outdoor play yard provides a unique climbing structure and hollow building blocks for large motor play as well as a sandbox and tricycles. On bad weather days, our indoor play space is used.

Jack and Jill Playgroup

The Jack and Jill Playgroup is a "First School" Experience.  It is designed for children ages 20-30 months.  Mrs. Linda Mietlowski (Mrs. "M"), an experienced early childhood educator, leads the children in: Art, Music, and Storytime sessions.  Over the course of the term Mrs. M will explore a multitude of themes with the children including: Transportation, Shapes, and Seasons.

We offer Fall, Spring, & Summer Playgroup Sessions.  Fall and Spring Playgroup sessions run 15 weeks, the Summer Playgroup runs seven weeks.  Families have the option of enrolling their child in either two or three classes per week: T/Th or M/W/F.  A parent or caregiver accompanies the child to the class.

The Playgroup Classroom is well equipped with slides, riding toys, puzzles and games. Children enjoy interactive play as they gain language and social skills with the help of the Mrs. M.  Please contact us if you would like to observe a class: 212-475-0855 or sbelliard@thejackandjillschool.org.
